the m42 duster started production in early 1952 and entered service in 1953 ,was that early or late 1953?
does any one know first us unit to be equipped with it?

Says late '53 and then they went out of the active component unit Vietnam.

In Vietnam it was very good at breaking up massed Infantry attacks on Firebases, etc. e.g. Khe Sahn. And clearing out ambushes while in a convoy. As the NVAF was a small threat to ground units. I never heard of any NVAF attacks on ground targets.
