"Trailer time today! First up, the one for Netflix' new post apocalyptic movie THE SILENCE starring Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, John Corbett and Kiernan Shipka which opens April 10 worldwide. It follows the story of a family struggling to survive in a world terrorized by a deadly, primeval species who have bred for decades in the pitch darkness of a vast underground cave system, hunting only with their acute hearing. As the family seeks refuge in a remote haven where they can wait out the invasion, they start to wonder what kind of world will remain when they're ready to emerge." YouTube link Amicalement Armand |

"Primeval" refers to the earliest stages of the world, or at least of life on it. That's rather longer ago than "decades". |

I'm going to read the Tim Lebbon novel first. The premise of this sounds like "A Quiet Place," a movie that I liked, so maybe I'll like this. |

The Silence was a very good novel and written well before A Quiet Place. |

So a species that hunts by sound. So easy to set traps for. |

I'm reading the novel now and it's quite gripping. I'm about 30% through after only starting it yesterday. I hope the movie sticks close to the novel. |
