Here are some pictures of my 1:1 scale model 2mm cavalry and lancers (!!) painted up and ready to go. There are roughly 800 cavalry models in these two regiments. The only thing missing are the squadron command stands (which I have on my desk, but not painted yet. I'll post those later…) I need to add a few more details in here still; maybe some highlights on the riders, possibly golden or bronze helmets, and (maybe?) faces. Then again, the idea behind these models is that you're seeing them at a distance, on a table covered with hundreds of these units, so that everything sort of swirls together. As you can see in my last picture, you can also use 2mm figures to create accurately sized columns of cavalry.

That means a lot coming from the genius behind Trout Mask Replica : ) |

One of my favorites…Oh it's a false name I'm using… |

And I still say the buttons are wrong! |

At just a tiny bit of irregular spacing, and they would look like the real thing. |

The buttons would look like the real thing? I know button spacing is a thing in the British Guards, even to this day, but never knew that for French Lancers. As for Captain Beefheart…now that is a blast from the past. Takes me back to three days of rain in a field outside Preston. Backing act to the Grateful Dead.
The look here is so realistic. I would love to see these against scale buildings and scenery. These could almost convince me to throw dice. Let's face it, not much scope for conversions here!

"Fast and bulbous!!" "Bulbous, also tapered!" For those wondering what we're talking about, here's an explanatory video that Captain Beefheart would absolutely have hated: YouTube link But it's actually pretty cool because they talked to some of the other guys in the band, just last year. Full album: YouTube link deadhead- I have a bunch of buildings in 2mm, but no pictures yet with these models. Here's a picture of a bunch of my buildings together as a city:
Here's a link to the blog: link And a how-to on my terrain: link I do want to take some new pictures with these when I get the chance. I'm also debating if I feel like finally getting my own 3D printer so I can start making thousands of bases. I have this idea stuck in my head about creating an entire Napoleonic army at 1:1 now. Plus I'd like to print enough buildings to make an entire city. Once you have your own printer it's extremely cheap to print. Printers are only about $200 USD today. |

Do you plan to use them in games? |

That battle scene is just incredible. Thanks so much for showing the buildings as well as the figures. As for Captain Beefheart 's album, she surely does analyse it in detail. By the end you have a scientific explanation of why it sounds so discordant and weird.

Gregor6262- Hi! Yes, I've got a few projects for convention games going. The picture above is from a test-run I was doing for Leipzig, at the battalion level. I'm about 80% of the way done (other than flying back to the East Coast with it and actually putting on a game!). I'm also working on some armies for Blucher that I can hopefully use to play quick games with. You can use my models to play any game you want, you just might have to modify the rules a bit, or be creative with labelling. I use a color coding dot system on the back of the bases, similar to what you see here: link I also have a set of rules I'm working on, but I want to get this Blucher system going to see if its even worth it. Sam might have a lockdown on abstract brigade level play… deadhead- thanks! The buildings are the key to the entire range. They're cheap to print, so you can have hundreds of them on the table top. As Bruce Weigel showed, the more buildings on your table, the better, always. |
