My latest unit – Swiss (or possibly German) mercenary pike.

Fine looking unit. I love the look of the leveled pikes, but they are a bother to game with. |

Those are truly beautiful, and would grace any wargames table! I think they are German, as I cannot identify the flag as a Swiss Cantonal banner? |

The flag is one of my own design. They are supposed to be a mercenary company with their own flag, but I thought I'd give them one with echoes of the Swiss Cantonal banners (black boar rather than the black bear of Berne). The flag can also be switched out – sometime in the future they may see action as Swiss in French service and will get an appropriate flag, for example. The setting is currently 'small scale private warfare somewhere in the Holy Roman Empire', and thus they are Swiss / German mercenaries in the employ of someone or another. |
