I recently got a bunch of GW ruins from the Urban Conquest boxed set and when I saw the statue ruins I decided I wanted to make some of them bronze statues. I think they are originally intended to be stone statue ruins, but there were two pieces out of the whole set that just felt like they needed to be bronze.
I had no clue how to do oxidation effects on bronze, it's one area of model weathering I simply never did before.
But thanks to Uncle Atom from the Youtube channel Tabletop Minions, he posted a video a few years back about this very topic!

I did vary the technique a little. Atom did a black undercoat and then drybrushed the bronze onto the model. I instead started with a full strength base coat of bronze paint. However for the oxidation wash I followed him exactly. I used two Vallejo colors, Game Colors Turquoise and Foul Green. I added both alcohol and water and also a little Army Painter mixing medium.
Because the Vallejo paints have such strong pigments, I had to thin down the mixture A LOT in order to avoid having it actually cover over the bronze and so that the bronze color could still show through. Took a little trial and error but finally got it to where it was translucent and convincing.
Here's the final result. I think they came out pretty well, mine does have heavier oxidation effects than Atom's does, but I think both ways look good:
