I had first first outing with Cruel Seas at the club on Friday with Colin and we had a lot of fun.

Looks like it was a fun game.

Good AAR read!

Btw, what's holding "Editor Bill" from getting into Cruel Seas I wonder…..there's no expiration dates anywhere I can find.

Great games!

Thanks for the AAR, looks like fun.
How does the game handle night actions? That was a real problem in other rule sets unless there was an umpire with hidden movement.

Nice report!

"the poor little Vospers didn't seem to have much chance unless they outnumbered the S-boats 2:1"

Hey, it's like Shermans against Panthers, except at sea! :)

You should get a Fairmile D to support your vospers

Thresher0125 Mar 2019 5:42 p.m. PST

Early Vospers have a tough time.

Later ones though, are much better armed, especially short boats with the 6 Pdr. cannons, and/or with multiple, light cannon mounts.

Thanks guys.
I have a couple of Fairmiles on order to even things up. I also picked up a couple of armed trawlers, so I'm thinking of a two-game mini campaign. S-boat attack on a coastal convoy, who then have to fight their way past some Fairmiles on the way home.

Reinforcements for the British have just turned up!

Two very nice resin castings from Heroics and Ros, very clean with minimal need for cleaning up.

I wish H&R had images linked for all their coastal boat offerings.

I know what you mean. I took a bit of a gamble based on a review of their S-boat I saw on a blog (plus the fact that £5.50 GBP for a Fairmile was a bargain when Warlord are charging £30.00 GBP for 2).
