I have been using GWs old Goblin Green on commissions. I have a small stash, mostly due to the lotr mags.

GG was part of GWs former (and better) paint range. It was a light green. It was GWs go to base colour through out the early nineties. Yes, you could also paint goblins with it. It was thicker than their other paints, seemingly with more pigment and did not seem to dry out as quickly their other paints. It seemed to me to be more durable also. I think perhaps GW made it better than other colours due to its frequent base use. It is also my favorite paint of any I have tried.

Does anyone know of a currently available substitute in colour, and hopefully, quality?

You could take a sample to a DIY or paint store and have them mix up a match for you. That should last you for years.

From a note I jotted down from a long gone website, you could mix 1 part Enchanted Blue to 4 parts Sunburst Yellow to get Goblin Green.
Craft Smart Shamrock is close, but a little darker. Might want to check the rest of that range for a match. It's cheap enough that you could lighten it with some yellow.
Also, check ebay. The older GW paints often show up for auction…

First thing, old GW paints were produced by Coat d' Arms, so you can check their range and most likely you will find it. Also Warcolours.com (not related to me) produces a range called nostalgia that matches old GW paints from the 90s perfectly. I am positive that Goblin Green is there too

Vallejo do a Goblin Green – it's not a bad match. Last time I looked on their stand Coat d'Arms seemed to have dropped the old citadel colours- unless they'd just sold out…

Coat d'Arms, Foundry, RailMatch and Humbrol acrylics all come out of the same factory in Manchester (HMG).Citadel's old range came out of the same factory. I suspect the new range does too, but don't know for definite.

Cd'A still have and sell 108 Goblin Green.

We still produce all the same colours we always have including Goblin Green – not sure what "Stand" you are referring to, Green Tiger? We don't attend shows and our retailers stock various combinations of our ranges…

Army painter has a green that's a good match.

I use Vallejo Game Color Goblin Green and it is a close match.
…and I'm still painting most of my bases with it.

Thankyou all for the information. I will have to try coat d arms. It seems they are the exact same paint and cheaper by far to GW and many others. Time to restock my GG hoard!
