Being a short Travelogue and After Action Report concerning my comings and goings during the recent Cold Wars 2019 convention, and what I saw there.

Excellent writeup Walt. Seems like you had a great time – but you always seem to have a great time.

As ever the report I most wait for and enjoy when I get to read it. Some great photos and as ever jealous that I can not get to all 3 shows…

Looking forward to seeing the merchandise at HCon

Really good report. Thanks. I wonder if the "Host" is getting so good, why is HMGA moving?

Great pictures. I was intrigued by the game on hexes with Spencer Smith/SAE looking figures. What was that

Looks like a miniature version of Richarg Berg's "Terrible Swift Sword" board game system

I wonder if the "Host" is getting so good, why is HMGA moving?

Because decisions are made a year in advance and last year the Host was in truly dire straights.

Thanks for the report, Walt.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Bobgnar, I think that was a blown up SPI map, and they appeared to be using Battle Cry to resolve battles.

The Host is no earthly paradise… it's just getting elevated to an acceptable standard. Finally.

TSS was done by SPI

Bobgnar, re: moving from the Host/Wyndham, also the old tennis barn, in its new configuration is well shy the floor space for the increasedvendor demand for Historicon.

Now it MAY work for one/both of the "smaller" cons. But my understanding is there is greater demand for Hcon floor space than supply.

One recourse may be to focus on vendor floor space efficiency in the age of booths by drapes and poles vice the old table to table layout we used to have.

LOVE that Civil War shot, what a super idea! And thanks for taking the time to write up another great report Walt.

Progress at the Wyndom yes but parking still atrocious, food almost non existent (Hey what happened to the caterer they brought in for Fall-In they had good food!) and half the bathrooms still to be renovated.

Having watched the Little Wars Historicon preview at the convention center I can't wait to move on this summer.

@DeRuyter

The caterer was the Coffee Co. They are a short walk from the hotel and have a stand alone restaurant. I spoke with the owner while at Cold Wars and they weren't asked to return to this convention.
