I've been wanting to create enough houses to make a simple French village and when I saw Sarissa's new terrace houses I thought these would form the perfect basis for a typical street. As with all MDF buildings they need a bit of extra love and attention to give them character and individuality. I have a detailed tutorial here Sarissa 20mm terrace houses

Very nice! What glue do you use for MDF though? PVA as per instructions or superglue? Or something else?

Excellent tutorial TP! Thanks for sharing.

I made a couple of back yards for my winter game a few months ago. I have a buddy with a laser cutter who cuts bases for our group 1/8" plywood. I gave him the sizes i needed and he cut them out.

See photos below.
One was a scratch built fence, using match sticks and Starbucks coffee stir sticks. Lichen glued in the corners and wood piles made up.

The second is a finer house back yard with picket fence and yard building and flower boxes. I painted this one grass green then added snow. I placed match sticks along the garden edge and glued the picket fence on top as it seem a tad too low. The fence, building and flowers boxes are all from Scenic Route Models. Glenn also created some 20mm wagons and a wheel barrow upon my suggestion.

I always use PVA. It may be slow to dry but i find that's an advantage as it allows time to ensure everything fits. It's also quite a good filler for any gaps.
