Published 2006 at £25.00 GBP, so far from cheap by prices even then (my copy).

You have to be interested in medical services, basically, to appreciate this. I only did 6 months of emergency medicine in central London in 1977 and (this will make our US cousins laugh) I did not see one gunshot wound…not one single one…in six months of working a one in two rota. Indeed hardly a single stabbing incident….in one of the largest casualty depts in London…happy days.


My Comments? Wellington's Doctors, obviously very similar but "Guthrie's War" was my favourite on med services.

Twins run in our family. Our two sons were born on St Patrick's Day 24 years ago, so a big weekend for us (grin)
