The game schedule is posted on the Seven years War page
link

I'll get it up on the Seven Years War Association web page as well.

I like the picture of the "Fearsome Old Fart Assault Column" (being one myself).

Is there a real website?

Here is the website but it is way out of date. But they have a useless link to FB. Not everyone is on FB.

You don't need to be a member of Facebook in order to view public pages.

The current web site is: sevenyearswarassn.org

The schedule is posted on the Convention News page.

The Facebook page gets announcements first, and has some conversations on it, but I think the problems with the reach of Facebook are understood, so official updates still get posted to the web site eventually.

The old sywconvention.com site is apparently owned by someone who is no longer responding to any form of contact, which is why there's a new site. It simply became impossible to update it, so it was abandoned. It's confusing, but I think you can safely un-bookmark it.

Thanks YA. The only thing I can view on the FB page is the front page for a period of time, then it is blocked. I can not access anything else.

When I click on events it blocks me. So no you can't really access a FB page without being a member. Something FB makes painfully clear when your on it more than 30 seconds.

When you google the Seven Years War Association the first thing that comes up is your zombie website. Have you ever consider starting a new website and have the old one taken down?

I'm not a member of the association, I just like this con and keep going back. Everything I explained above is what I've gleaned from poking around the Internet and listening to conversations at the con. I totally agree that the online presence of the SYWA is disunited and confusing, and probably does no favors to the attendance, but I give the organizers a lot of slack because they're not technogeeks, they're lawyers and professors and LEOs and otherwise-employed (or retired) folks who do this as a hobby.

My understanding is that the zombie site can't be pulled down because nobody associated with the con has legal or practical access to it.

I am a Facebook user, but I'm also a Facebook critic, so I agree a Facebook group is a rotten substitute for a web site. Unfortunately, FB is the first refuge of contemporary technofeebs, so I just grumble and live with it until Facebook is replaced by the next walled garden. The lessons of dialup BBSes, AOL, Compuserve, Myspace, Google+, and a zillion other proprietary ruins remain unlearned.
