Do you mean an actual, long term siege, which could last weeks, months, even years until one side finally starved/succumbed to disease OR got relieved/fought off relief? Or do you mean a full bore assault on a fortress/city? Or both?

I agree on Stirling Castle, "Warwolf" was what he named his new trebuchet, and he wouldn't accept a surrender until it hurled at least one stone upon the walls.
