Puppy!

Funny story.

A guy I'd met in college had a service dog after he'd had a really bad deployment to the middle east. I'd occasionally throw a ball for Java (his black Lab) when Tam was in between classes. The grounds crew at the college liked him to chase the Canada Geese off the lawns, so asked him to rotate where he was running the wiggles out of Java between classes.

~5yr break.

I'm at the VA when I see a gray-muzzled Lab in a service dog vest that is very happy to see me, jumped up to her feet and licking my hands. I introduce myself, "Hi there sweetheart, my name is Scott, what's -" Only to be cut off with a gruff, "No it's not!" It was Tam and Java!

Java hadn't seen me in at least 5 years, but still remembered me!

Trackers is a great book about Aussie tracker dogs in Vietnam.
