Are they any books on the subject of battles in Angola and what did the enemies of the Portuguese look like. |

link I have this book and it is quite good in describing the actions and campaigns of the Portuguese in Africa. Also goes into the politics within these campaigns. Some descriptions of equipment and soldier types amongst the opponents of the Portuguese. |

I don't know about Angolo specifically but, "Bringers of War: the Portuguese in Africa during the age of Gunpowder…" is well worth a read. I see we were typing at the same time. |

"Bringers of War" is excellent. Well illustrated with good maps. Truly remarkable what Portugal accomplished with very limited resources. Only wish the book was longer! |
