How would you call this color? link It looks to me like a tan with just a faint trace of olive drab. is their a craft paint for this? basically I saw a painting guide that used this for a base terrain color. so I was hoping I could find it cheaper in the local Walmart or Michaels |

Aegon, would it be cheating to walk through the paint aisle of a craft store and see what they have? |

@robert piepenbrink Michaels had them on the bottom shelf so I would have to get on my hands and knees – not easy at my age :) Plus the craft paints aren't arranged in any particular oder that I can tell… |

Paint a flat piece of material with the color and take that to a DIY, hardware, or paint store. They can computer match it and mix a small tester pot of the same color in flat latex for $5. USD I did this for terrain and it lasts a long time! I now have 3 pots that are matched to Vallejo colors for bases and terrain. |

jhancock has the best suggestion for an exact match. Your second way to match is here link ,a really great site. But, my old Macbook shows your sample as: R: 168, G: 134, B, 90 , and my older Macbook shows your sample as: R: 183, G: 142, B, 90 . So, as always, YMMV. |

Understood, Aegon. Usually JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby are not quite so cruel. I still find it quite easy to get on hands and knees, though. It's the getting up part that's tricky. |

I did post this link that you asked for a few days ago. link It's a Vallejo craft paint conversion chart. BTW, I do see a quite logical pattern to how craft paints are displayed at craft stores. I too have issues getting up from kneeling on the floor with unstable store displays to hold on to. Use your charm on the pretty girls who work there to find what you need. They will pity you of course, but you will get the paint you need. |

@robert piepenbrink I know the feeling :) @Winston Smith "Excuse me, miss, could you help an aged man? I'm on a quest…" |
