If I were to design a tank today, I'd do my best to maximize mobility (both tactical and strategic) and gun, with crew protection a lower priority. The trend is the opposite. Increasingly heavy tanks with even thicker armour. The Abrams is pushing 70t, that will have an impact on strategic mobility. |
