I've locked into a bit of an enjoyable cycle trying to adjust different Old School rules to suit my 6 x 4 table and smaller Regiment sizes and then not certain which set I like the most plus wanting to minimise the adjustments to honour the original etc etc.
Suddenly it dawned on me to just take what I loved the most from each set and make my own.
So I happen to dig out the book that started it all for me back in the seventies "Introduction to Battle Gaming" By Terry Wise. It was with great pleasure and surprise that realised how many of his rules, some word for word, that I had unconsciously incorporated into my own the day before. Even though I probably haven't read these rules since the last century.
Thank you Terry Wise for the hours of fun since that first ad hoc game of Agincourt with Timpo figures all those years ago.
I just wanted to share this with people who might understand. :)

Fully understood, Max! Terry Wise rules kick-started my wargaming but after 40 years of wandering through rules of complexity, glossiness, faddiness etc I'm going back to the likes of Wise, Tarr etc to find what attracted me in the first place.
