Dear Forum Members,

I've been working hard on the building at Waterloo just to the south of La Belle Alliance, Trimotion. I've now got four battalions of Guard on these two sections of my diorama – with ancillary troops about 2,000 figures.

You can see more on my blog at generalpicton.blogspot.com

Hope you like it!

I always thought only the German modellers could produce something on this scale.

The research you put into this little known building has resulted in something very novel and an important addition to our knowledge of the field. Beats Siborne hands down…..

But I can't help it. For me it is that carriage yet again. Best photo I have ever seen of it!

Thanks Deadhead, if you live in UK would you like to come and see it? I'm convening a seminar to look at how a 1 to 1 diorama of the battle could be realised.

Well, that's amazing! Great work – when I am next in the UK I would love to see it

Magnificent. Really inspiring to see battalions in 1 to 1 scale.

Like it? LOVE it!

Thanks folks, this took a bit of effort, I must say! Anyone UK based or willing to travel, I'm convening a seminar on how to construct a 1 to 1 20mm model of the battle. Let me know your email address and I will invite you. I have Siborne's GGGG Grandson coming who is by coincidence an architectural model maker.

I am Uk based and would be interested in attending a seminar. Have you considered where you would host this, or is it too early days yet?

thomaspicton04 Mar 2019 10:56 a.m. PST

Dear Marc, I live in Dorset – if you would like to come you would be very welcome.

That is outstanding work, unbelievable details.

Sounds fascinating. Other end of the country but hope to hear more about this. You must announce this on this forum. Could it be perhaps be later tied in with a national convention? Would attract many an attendee I suspect.

My contact liamdotfloodatnhsdotnet (never give your proper e mail anywhere on line). Robots seek them out!

Dorset is doable. My wife has an elderly aunt that way so could be combined :-)

thomaspicton05 Mar 2019 2:31 p.m. PST

Excellent, let me know how to contact you and I will send details.

Lambert Supporting Member of TMP05 Mar 2019 4:07 p.m. PST

I am also interested. Can I email you via TMP?

thomaspicton05 Mar 2019 11:20 p.m. PST

Of course, Lambert it would be good to see you. How does the TMP email system work?

You have to be a supporting member.

otherwise, it is about obscuring email details such as mine

Would be happy to hear from you.

Bet you drop the comma though!

Suspect that should be a dot.

Seriously though, must be careful anywhere on line. There are programmes (UK spelling) right out of the Matrix seeking you out….until they become self aware…you are joebloggsatbtinternetdotcom etc…….snag is that my eldest tells me they can now look out for anything with at and dot in the same "word". They are that serious…trust me. He knows and works with this daily.

Your e mail address will soon become lethal…..

Lambert Supporting Member of TMP08 Mar 2019 12:04 p.m. PST

The comma was deliberate to break up the "word" and fool the robots. Never mind, it's all in a good cause.

Personal logo deadhead Supporting Member of TMP08 Mar 2019 3:33 p.m. PST

That is worth repeating.

Never give your e mail En Claire anywhere on line.

Time was you could swap an @ for an "at" or a . for a "dot"..

But they are looking for such substitutions now.

Breaks your heart, if you are from a generation who remembers Apollo landings or raced home from school to hear the latest from Khe Sanh or Hue.

The info potential of what we now have…and just how it is wasted…makes me weep
