Helos without rotors just look…. weird. |

Does make storing the beasts easier! Also, main rotors aren't exactly a disc in flight, they're a cone. Main rotors are only flat when the bird is on the ground. But yes, I need to place a big order to Hurlbat for rotor discs to get my Vietnam helos looking better. |

Very nice modelling ! As far as rotors on chopper models. Probably the clear disc is the "better" way to handle it. Or none at all for gaming purposes. But generally I think I will just use the rotor blades that come with the models … E.g. my Ork Air CAV …

I do the same. Makes it easier to fit the MI-26 on the table. And in my display cabinet…. FWIW I hate silly plastic discs with jagged lines drawn on that are meant to represent whirling propellers, so for aeroplanes I leave the prop fixed and for helicopters I leave the rotors off entirely. Each to his own (but my way is always the best 😉). Andy's site is my 'go to' for Cold War inspiration and is the reason why I have so many 1/72 Russian helicopters. |
