Following a recent visit to the city of Cartagena in Southern Spain, we took time to visit some of the recently uncovered Roman and Punic archaeology in the city that is starting to give a clearer picture of its development from its fall to the Romans in 209 BC.
In this first post I have looked at our visit to the purpose built all weather viewing centre built to display the ForoRomano Molinete complex of buildings, a first century AD bathhouse, banqueting suite and temple dedicated to the gods Isis and Serapis. Hi JJ, I was there in Cartagena some months ago, but your pictures and review are much better than mine. Thanks for sharing. The punic walls are also worthwhile, and the Undewater Archeology museum is a must. There is also a galleon in the docks. Thanks for your posts, they are always very interesting. Enric. |

Thanks for your comments chaps and glad you enjoyed the post. Enric – The Punic Walls will be featured in Part Two, together with the two main roads that have been revealed and left uncovered. The Underwater museum is on my list to do in future visits. Cheers JJ |
