Yes, it is interesting how, once again, the GI adapted and adjusted to come up with a solution to a problem. That came up in the field. IIRC in Iraq and A'stan, the GI did similar with trucks including the newer heavy cargo truck, the HEMTT. link |

My understanding is the French had a similar problem and added protection to many of their own US trucks. Considering higher-ups weren't ignorant of the French experience they should have seen this coming in my opinion. |

It seems in some cases the US ignored France's experience in Indo-China … But as we see, in A'stan, Iraq and Syria, we used some lessons learned from the past. |
