The first day of the Somme? No it is the last day of the Somme. Why did it take till November to call it off? link I would rate Franklin worst than the third day of Gettysburg. Lee actually thought it would work. I am convinced Hood knew his attack would fail. He said that it was necessary to discipline the army. |
