You were asked – TMP link

Who will win the Iron Throne?

22% said "Aegon Targaryen, ne Jon Snow"
12% said "Danaerys Targaryen"
11% said "Tyrion 'Lannister'"

Winston Smith26 Feb 2019 2:00 p.m. PST

We'll see.
My money is on Good Queen Sansa.

The problem with "theories" is that it's just like betting on Wrestlemania. The outcome has been decided. We just have to sit back and watch.
And enjoy.

Another theory. Arya will kill Cersei. As the lovely Missandei pointed out to the lovely Danaerys, some Valyrian nouns are non-gender specific.
Thus "Valonqar" could just as well mean "little sister" as "little brother".
Cersei is #1 on Arya's hit list.

Back to regularly scheduled programming.

No Sansa will end up with Winterhold and be ruler of the north.

Yes Jon will end up as King with Danaerys as Queen.

Miss Clark stopped filming long before Mr Harrington . Jon Snow is probably left holding the baby . And yes 100% agree with Winston on Cersei's fate , I think she loses the will to live after Jaime's KIA .

GRRM put too many twists in earlier parts of the saga to put the all too obvious Jon on the throne, especially since he'll perpetually be known as "King Know Nothing"

It's a feature of fiction, you are born a noob and remain a noob or you're born as a fully formed grizzled badass, think Jon vs Bron.

Sansa seems likeliest to come out on tap after all she went through. Of course this makes her the perfect target for GRRM to put a contract on, which means Cersei has her murdered, giving Arya the boost she needs to Chernobylize Cersei (and probably dies in the process) and Jon puts the kid on the throne and becomes lord protector until the little tyke comes of age.

My theory is that Jon Snow will get Danaerys pregnant and then die, leaving Danaerys and the child of her and Jon Snow to become the new sitter on the Iron Throne, but Danaerys will die as well, leaving Sansa and Tyrion to be the protectors because… Tyrion will reunite with his wife Sansa (which will be a political marriage, though one of mutual respect), making any heir they produce the ruler of both Lannister and Stark (House Lannistark?) assuming Cersei and Jamie both die (which seems likely).

(which seems likely).

Hah!
Your first mistake!

@PatrickR
GRRM was happily toodling along, deliberately writing a saga that he KNEW, having spent time writing for TV and movies, would be too complicated to film.
And then along comes HBO, who made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Nimble Dick, Patchface, Victarion, Alleras, Arianne…. not to mention Lady Stoneheart… All digressions that won't fit in 73 episodes.

I think the dead will win. I think the stories are meant to be Tragedy, and the fatal flaw is the playing of the game of thrones in the face of a "created" force of nature. The night king represents Global warming.

Winston Smith27 Feb 2019 6:03 p.m. PST

If the Night King represents global warming, or climate change, someone has to be responsible in the blame game.
What did they do to bring it about?
And most importantly, what do they have to do to stop it? If nobody knows, then there is no solution, beyond Magic Swords +4 vs Undead.

dwight shrute28 Feb 2019 4:30 a.m. PST

If Mr Harington), is Azor Ahai.

The Prince That Was Promised the prophesied warrior who acquires the skills to kill the Night King and thus end the war.

But in order to get the Lightbringer sword he needs to do such a thing, Jon would have to kill Nissa Nissa – his love.

Mithmee28 Feb 2019 7:51 p.m. PST

You know it most likely not going to be won by anyone since it is going to be melted down to make swords.

There are only a few things that can kill White Walkers:

Dragon glass
Valyrian Steel
Dragon Fire

That is about it.

so between the Dragon Glass that is on the island and this Throne you are going to get a lot of weapons.

WS, The children of the forest created the night king. They "needed a weapon to fight the First men". Desperation created the king, Hubris prevents the squabblers from seeing the real threat to their existence. The Cassandras are not heeded.
