Did these follow the infantry pom poms in colour = squadron? Internet gave pictures of small dogs Thanks |

The companies were identified with pom-pom colours as follows: 1st Squadron Compagnie d'elite – red. 5th Compagnie – red and white. 2nd Squadron 2nd Compagnie – sky blue. 6th Compagnie – sky blue and white. 3rd Squadron 3rd Compagnie – aurore. 7th Compagnie – aurore and white. 4th Squadron 4th Compagnie – violet. 8th Compagnie – violet and white. It varied from regiment to regiment. I have some regiments with top white and others with top coloured. |

The white centres were for the disc-type pom-poms which were added later in the wars which were not really pom-poms. |
