I understand it has gone through some name changes. it's not 'MultiSurface Floor Cleaner', is it?

If you're looking to still use that stuff as a gloss clear coat there's better products out there today. Squadron.com has all kinds.

The last lot I bought in the US was called "Pledge floor care, tile and vinyl floor finish with Future shine", though that was several years ago – maybe over 5 years in fact. It did have a slight fragrance – called clean scent – but it worked just the same for me.

It's a desert topping!

(Sorry. Ancient Saturday Night Live reference to way back in the previous century when it was actually…. funny.)

No, not the "Floor Cleaner". You want "Pledge Floor Care Finish".

Thresher0124 Feb 2019 3:57 p.m. PST

I don't recall reading that anyone was adding it to their desert terrain.

Winston Smith24 Feb 2019 4:01 p.m. PST

I could edit that to "dessert", I still have time, but I'd rather take it like a man and blame Autocorrect.

If it used to be "Future Floor Wax", is it now "Recent Past Floor Wax"?

Swanny's Models page "The Compleat Future" is an old reference but pretty thorough.

The page was last updated in March 2015. At that time the "Future" was phased out and it is called Pledge Floor Care Finish.

I looked at Swanny's Models too, but his site seems to be out of date. It's hard to keep up with the rebranding campaign… Pledge appears to be determined to make sure their customers can't find this stuff anymore.

Some model sites mention the most recent change of name in 2018 to Pledge Revive It Floor Gloss.

Still have half a bottle of the Pledge on the painting table that I still use.

This is one of the best places to learn the various names used for Future Floor Finish (not wax, no wax involved!).

The Site is The Complete Future:

It is an acrylic media with a flow agent.
Amazing number of uses.

@Yellow Admiral

Yup, it looks like that is what I have. Feel better about it now.

DestoFante25 Feb 2019 11:14 a.m. PST

Is there a UK equivalent?

DyeHard25 Feb 2019 3:24 p.m. PST

In the UK:
I think it is "SC Johnson Pledge Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish by Pledge"
Like this:

Was the older name.

And "Pledge 11182 Revive It Floor Gloss Clear Transparent Liquid"
Like this:

Is the newer name.
