Can you recommend suitable buildings and hedges/enclosures for 28mm ECW models? Thanks.

Buildings – the Hudson & Allen range, or make your own.

Nothing against Hudson & Allen, but outside of the Middle East, there are few buildings easier to scratch-build than half-timbered ones. I treasure the commentary track on The Fellowship of the Ring describing Bree: "typical English vernacular architecture--tall, narrow and slightly out of true."

4Ground makes some suitable buildings (on the lower half of the page).

Second for 4Ground I have some of their buildings and will be getting more.

For resin Armourcast are my favourite, interiors are also cast, roofs are removable, followed by Grand manner, which can now only be purchased painted. Tabletop world are a little fantasy but very nice, JR miniatures also have a few pieces

Cheers

There are some really nice MDF models around, but for me, they are much too square and straight. Wander around any English town with medieval or renaissance era buildings and you will notice how wonky and wobbly they are. MDF doesn't capture this 'character', whereas resin buildings can. The Hovels range, whilst old, are excellent. As are the various offerings sold by Total Battle Miniatures and Magister Militum

How accurate would you like your buildings to be? A prosperous area would have more up-to-date buildings than an economically depressed one. So you could get away with medieval buildings in the North West but for the Thames valley and East Anglia you should major on Tudor-style.
And there were regional/national differences in half-timbering. The 4ground buildings look Germanic to me. For example, Google 'Lavenham' for East Anglia pattern and "stratford on Avon" for west midlands, which included brick.
