I just received some 1/72 Hat Greek hoplites and Macedonian pikemen from an online purchase. However, the store did not note that these did not come with weapons. What best fits these for spears, mind that I am not into using straw from a broom as I wish to have something a bit more sturdy in their tiny hands. Justin |

Get a broom with plastic bristles instead. By far the cheapest way. |

I used Northstar wire spears for my Newline 20mm metals they worked well. Not sure if they are available in the US though. |

Mirliton has a huge number of weapons, his figures are small 25, fits very well with 1/72. |

Search evilbay for dressmaking pins in the right length All you need to do is snip off the beaded ends |

Warlord Games or Northstar "spears" work perfectly! The thickness is just right (in fact, they also work with 15mm figures). You may have to clip them a little shorter (you can get them in 50mm and 40mm lengths) but they look good and have nice points, so they look like spears, not just blunt pieces of plastic or wire. To get a good thickness for 25/28mm figures' spears, I would recommend the "pikes", as they are thicker diameter. Perhaps some "pikes" (they come in 100mm and 80mm, depends whom you buy them from) for the pikemen. Check ebay, as well. |

Thank you, everyone. At least I have some choices. I was at work when I posted before and my employer blocks most commercial sites and blogs. Regards to all. Justin |

The North Star metal spears are great but very expensive. I have had great success with floral wire and would recommend it as well. All you need is some means to crimp the end and it looks good. If you go the extra mile you can use a Dremel and shape the end perfectly. |

What gauge wire? I am 100 miles from the nearest city and must resort to online purchases for the majority of what I buy. |
