I'm very competitive, but I'd rather lose a close game than win a landslide. From responses to that comment in the past, it sounds like I'm a pretty rare breed. |

I would rather lose a close down to the last turn type of game than have my head handed to me type of game. |

I'm the same as Sundance and Capt John. I would rate competition very high for me. That does not mean cheating in any way or gaming with someone who is not as good as I just to win. it means a good tough contest. |

Being competitive is not the same thing as being a jerk. Rest assured that there are lots of jerks out there that are not competitive. The point of a contest is to compete. There are some things classified as games that are not competitive. Wargames, focusing on war as a modality, are inherently competitive. Concur that I'd rather lose by a hair's breadth than win by three easy strides … 'course I'd rather win by a hair than lose by a hair. ;) |

Yeah, have to agree with etotheipi, tread the fine line between being competitive and being a jerk. And yes, I would much rather win by a hair than lose by a hair, regardless of the hair color. |
