Played out at Beachhead last weekend, the Sovs were tasked to take the canal at Mitte Pommers, 6km north of Gyros Teller. The British had a recce screen out front, Saladins and Ferrets of the QDG. Meanwhile the 3rd Carabiniers were pushing over the Bridge to counter this thrust with their Centurions and a couple of Conquerors. Initially the Recce screen stayed hidden as the Brits had air superiority and the little Skeeter called in 5.5 arty and even a Canberra strike to destroy the Soviet Recce. Finally the T-55 Bn arrived supported by T-62 and a Platoon of T-10. Enough 6s were thrown to spot and destroy a recce car, leading to the recce being pulled back to their secondary positions. as elements of the British arrived a Soviet airstrike caught some vehicles in the open leading to the destruction of a Saracen and Ferret 2/6. Bad dice by a MOBAT waiting in ambush on the right flank saw a potential breakthrough by the Sovs, however the 2 x Conqueror saved the day with some long range hits. In an exchange of gunnery in the centre 2 x Cents were lost however the surviving pair, a mobat and 2 x hornets decimated the remaining T-55. link
