Author John Paxton Sheriff wrote at least four crime mysteries featuring amateur PI Jack Scott who is described as a "toy soldier maker from Liverpool now living in Snowdonia." Has anyone read these books and what is your recommendation – find them or leave them alone?

Sheriff also wrote Modelling Toy Soldiers.
