To the best of my knowledge, M4,s,mainly, for the US army, (Marines often used M4a2's as they used diesel like their assault boats.) in the later war, I assume replacement tanks would be increasingly M4a1's and M4a3's.
Stuarts would be M5a1's.
They appear to have been painted standard US drab, and often had a white star on the rear engine deck for air identification.

I am only working from limited sources, I know folks out there can give you much more info.
