When your army is smaller than that of Paraguay, it is best to stay out of wars until you're ready. |

Well naval vessels and aircraft of all branches of service can't seize or hold terrain. As we know all, strategists accurately espouse you cannot win a war with just bombing and shelling the enemy. The historical evidence of this is Huge in all wars since the advent of not only heavily armed warships but aircraft. We all know that modern mobile combined arms warfare wins wars. |

Everyone is correct when you use the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. In 1940, if the history had gone the other way then FDR might now be damned for allowing a Fascist/Communist alliance to take over the world. A 1940 US naval presence would have made a big difference. With the UK gone and Europe under axis control if Hitler had done nothing to threaten the Western Hemisphere ten American isolationists would have a good case for staying out of a war. |
