Just curious as to how the Fast Reload, and Rapid Fire rules work in What a Tanker?

Would like to know what weapons get both the Rapid Fire, and/or Fast Reload bonuses. Presumably 20mm cannons would be RF, but not sure about 37mm cannons, 50mm cannons, and larger.

Also, anyone know if/when the infantry and anti-tank gun rules will be making their debut, and/or if this rumor is true?

I've seen a posting mentioning someone is working on them, and that perhaps it might see the light of day around Easter, but don't know if that is confirmed or not.

I don't know anything for certain about a supplement for WaT. What I do know is that Wat mainly Nick's project and it the last couple of podcasts he has mentioned working on developing ways to play Kriegsspiel games using social media but no mention of a supplement for Wat.

The claim that new items will be available by Easter is an old and tired inside joke among Lardies. It'll be ready by Easter but what year?

Ah, I see.

Thanks for the info.

FYI 'Rapid Fire' vehicles are mentioned under the attributes section on the vehicle lists. 20mm auto cannons are the only ones to qualify if I remember correctly.

Rapid fire means you only have to reload once anytime in a turn, and can then use as many Fire actions as they have.

An example: My Panzer II has acquired a Sherman in the last turn…
I throw 1,3,4,4,4,6, this translates as a move, an Aim, three Fires, and a Wild card.

I could Move to a better position and/ or rotate my turret.
As I am already Acquired, I Aim at the Sherman.
As I don't have a reload (5), I change the 6 to a 5.
I have 3 Fire actions, so can now shoot 3 times at the hapless M4!
I end the turn unloaded.

Normal guns need to reload after each fire, of course.

I hope this clarifies the rule for you.

I am not aware of any supplement coming. I think ATGs could be added fairly simply, but would firing at them require a "switch to HE" rule? Nick and Rich have said there are no plans to add infantry to WaT. If you want infantry, you can switch to Chain of Command.

In WS&S issue 99, Mark Backhouse has an article explaining how he added infantry to WaT.

The only Rapid Fire vehicles in the game are the Pz II family (to include the Luchs) and the Russian T-60.

Thanks for the info and replies. I really appreciate them.

"Mark Backhouse has an article explaining how he added infantry to WaT".

Bolt on, "Bolt Action", or "CoC" perhaps for the infantry rules?

Care to share what he suggested?
