In my role as resident fussbudget. If those doors are to scale with the worshippers, the temple must have a congregation of about 12. Maybe it's a new small congregation in a former garage? I may buy a couple anyway, but please keep in mind that it's doors (and steps) above all else which tell the eye what size a building is. |

Yeah, yeah. I already said I was being a fussbudget. But I used to look at a lot of pictures of buildings. Take a look at the door closest to us in the first two shots. If the roof top is 30 feet, the doors must be 20' high. You might do that for grandeur--but only on a much bigger building. If those doors are 10' high--still well into the artificially impressive heights if you're not parking vehicles--then the ceiling can't be over 15 feet high and the sloping walls make a lot of the space unusable. (Trust me. I slept in an attic in grad school, and I still remember.) Doesn't mean my GEVs and grav tanks won't be rumbling through one of adsayiner's cities. The overall work is nice and the prices reasonable. But BECAUSE he might be with us for a long time, I wanted to mention visual cues and scale. Making a tiny building which looks like a big building shrunk down takes work and thought, especially when there isn't a real world prototype. When you make a door, give some thought to who's passing through it. And what I didn't say loud enough the first time: Nice work, Adasyiner, and I hope to see more or it. |
