The surf is so well done, but that is one ferocious stream! Not sure the pontoon bridge could take that and, of course, the bridges were indeed the big issue in 1809…but more due to Austria's efforts than rainfall and divine intervention.

Fun to again see those pontonniers once more. They wear just cross belts and a smile, but nothing else. Not enough detail to work out just how cold the Danube was…I suspect very little to show on these poor gents. Better than the Beresina though (Grin).

This masterpiece was one of the central highlights of last years Dioramica organised by the master, Wolfgang Meyer and his team.

I had the privilege to be invited to Hann Munden by German friends to see this and many more feats of magnificent modelling.

To see Stefenfalk, Massimo, Francessco, Mr Crynns, Frank Ziegler and many more in action, creating their produce is like watching magic.

I have a hankering to re fight Aspern Essling eventually. My research has been extensive with the help of Mr Crynns.

The Danuabe was in spate and the French had a tough time with floating debris before the Austrians started their tricks.

Best wishes,

Chris

Very impressive! Just reading the grim French novelisation (Rambaud) of Aspern Essling at the moment.
