So what valuable relic is sitting on your bookshelf collecting dust? Even if this was signed by the author in his own blood I would doubt it was worth this much. auction |

Wow – now that is, in my humble opinion, a little bit over-priced |

His inventory is very impressive. |

That is hysterical. I wonder how much he actually expects to get for it. The prices of the other items are certainly more reasonable and realistic. |

I sold mine at a flea market, but I don't think I got that much. I should have held onto it. |

I'll sell you my copy for the low, low price of $3,000. USD |

And he is offering the monthly payment plan for it too. Now you can have a "rules payment" each month in addition to your car payment. I have seen some preposterous asking prices on ebay lately for figures, rules, etc…has it always been this bad? |

I have a first edition 1851 copy of Sir Edward Shepherd Creasy's "The Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World." But I didn't pay 3,500.00 for it! |

WarWizard | 06 Feb 2019 11:01 a.m. PST |
$35,000.00 USD for a set of rules? Was that the edition that was hand written by monks on parchment paper? |
jefritrout | 06 Feb 2019 12:31 p.m. PST |
My copy is in better condition than his (no creases, almost no wear)- so is mine worth $4,000 USD? |

Hey, just keep in mind what my father told me when I was collecting baseball cards. They are only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. If no one wants them, then they're worthless, right? The same holds true if everyone thinks they are waaaaay over priced and no one is willing to shell out that kind of coin, they're worthless. |

At the Acaeum (D&D collectors website) it is noted that a first edition Guidon Games copy of Chainmail sold for $1,573 USD last September. Latest price for a second is only(!) $852. USD |

I've got a very old, very large, very heavy Bible bound in very worn and scuffed leather. No date of publication, but the faded Gothic lettering makes me think it was printed somewhere in continental Europe; I can make out something that looks a bit like "G*t**berg"', perhaps the place (Gothenburg?) of publication, or maybe the printer. It's not in very good condition, and has been heavily annotated and indeed scribbled on by someone the name of M**** Luther. I don't think it would be very valuable. |
