… for wargames. Even if you're still proudly sporting your 70's mullet (possibly a skullet by now) in which decade of the 20th cent are most of the games you play set?

While a decade (or a century, for that matter) is a highly arbitrary division of time, one could easily identify significant changes in the conduct of warfare for each decade.

Do you have a go-to decade of the 1900's? What is it? If your fave is theater specific, what's that as well?

I would go with the 40's because you get WWII and the early Soviet resistance. A close second would be the 90's for the wars I fought in (or didn't personally fight in) while I was on active duty.

The 20th Century overall must have been the bloodiest with all the Big and little wars, conflicts, etc.. That had occurred all over the world.

Really hard to pick one as it changes over time. I used to do French Foreign Legion at the turn of the century. Then did a bunch of WW2. Picked up some "Sand Pebbles" and did the '30's in China. Russian Civil War was next. At the moment I do WW1 in Mesopotamia, Vietnam, and am just starting "Cold War gone hot." So, at the moment I think the 80's will be the decade of choice going forward (both because it's an interesting what-if and I served from '77 to '85) and the 60's the most recent decade I've gamed a lot in.

If I'm playing a game set in the last century, it's usually a WWII scenario in Europe, so: 1940s Europe.

That being said, I may only play one or two a WWII games a year.

1910s I guess, as the only 20C minis gaming I've been doing in ages has been Wings of Glory WWI.
