So Much for GW's Imminent Demise – not that I don't expect that topic to pop up again in the near future. link |

GW has only been making normal missteps recently, not the cumulative coffin nails the previous CEO was pounding. |

Nice to see Tom Chipley still works there, he was one of the capable ones. Wish I still worked there. :( |

For whatever weird reason, there will always be haters? This is absolutely an amazing and inspiring story of success!! Regards. Russ Dunawau |

Quite. The GW story over the last 5 years has been something that should not only inspire people in the gaming industry but be a model for people in any industry. |

I suspect some of the haters are American entrepreneurs/retailers of GW stuff in the US, who got shafted by them, a decade or more ago, when they changed some of their business policies. |

Not a fan, but the current management did a very good job turning the place around. |

Anything that puts a dent into the Dark Forces of the collectible card industry is fine by me. 😀 |

Good for them. Not really a GW player but I appreciate how they've changed for the better in recent years. Anything that spreads the word and casts table top gaming in a better light is fine by me. |

They don't want to hire more people, hoping their new automation system will allow current workers to do more. Interesting. |

Hey, I'm actually playing what some loud types consider GW's biggest mistake in a decade, but sure, I'm a hater. But that "Prestige Brand" BS being pushed by the previous CEO? The attitude that caused a superficially good annual report to stink because the customer base was shrinking quickly right there in black-and-white? THAT was what we all hated. Well except for the people who wanted WFB to continue despite having been a rotting corpse for three years and in poor health for far longer… We hated what GW had become. GW's strategic failings have largely reversed in the last two years. The only outside fanbase that appears to be particularly blasted about that is the Warmahordes crowd, watching in denial as their crack dealer implodes in the presence of a renewed GW. I've seen GW's secondary market fluctuate over the years, but nothing like what just happened to the WMH secondary market, largely at the hands of Privateer Press themselves. Nicely painted armies failing to sell at 30% of original retail. It's a great time to get into that game pair for cheap, assuming you wanted to. GW's remaining missteps are tactical, and many of them hearken back to their 90s habits. Games they intended to be one-shots (Underworld) being surprise successes, while others that could have regained their long-term running power (Necromunda) are being dribbled out so slowly and in such inefficient ways that no one cares anymore. Adeptus Titanicus looking like a classic 90s TSR trademark maintenance release instead of something they expect the fans to actually play. That kind of Rope-a-Dope behavior has killed other companies, mind you. I'm actually dreading the upcoming return of Battlefleet Gothic based on the AT fumble, never mind the complete disaster they could make of Warmaster. It does look like GW's digital sculptors are improving where it counts. Technical expertise is only a part of the solution; if your models feel soulless or look silly, it really doesn't matter how good the technicals were to get there. GW's style misses ARE getting less common. But unless you've sold your soul to rank-and-file, Age of Sigmar is actually a fun and supported pass-time, Underworld and Kill Team maintain interest with tight design, good repeatability, and short play times, and 40k is still… 40k. |

Titanicus sold out in less than 2 weeks. Extra models selling like hotcakes. Interestingly enough, no plans to "reprint" base game as they are fine with splitting out the contents as separate releases(and making more money). Would love to see Battlefleet Gothic and expansions to Dreadfleet. |

"Extra models selling like hotcakes." We're what, six or seven months in? By this point the first Adeptus Titanicus was well into infantry and vehicles, and included Marines and the Eldar. AT2 has just Imperial and Heretic, and is still stuck on titans alone. That's the fumble. |

It wouldn't surprise me, that after building their new distribution center, they move the US HQ to it… |
