I've been horribly late in getting started on blog posts this year. However, there are now a couple of British frigates up on the blog. Please stop by and check them out.

Thanks, Matt. I think, in this case, it's more because the British built some nice looking ships during this time period instead of any brushwork on my part. A bigger problem is, I'm already starting to think what else I might be able to use them for.

Lovely Brian – I love British frigates of the late fifties, perhaps due to them being on the news every night during the Falklands War when I was a teenager.

I was lucky enough to visit HMS Plymouth when she was a museum ship in Birkenhead before being needlessly and shamelessly scrapped.

And she also features in one of my favourite naval images of the war: the bombardment of South Georgia.

As you say, some nice looking ships.

BJones,
I wish I had been able to visit Plymouth before she went to the scrappers. The romantic in me says it would have been better for her to have broken the tow and sunk somewhere than to be made into razor blades and beer cans.

Also, that picture you posted has made me realize that I have to do the whip antennae on her now.
