In recent years we discovered that some celebrities are gamers, but maybe perfectly average wargamers happen to have somebody in their gaming circle who becomes a celebrity in their own right, but looks up to them as their guide or fellow traveller into gaming.

Are you such a gaming hero to a celebrity ?

Nope. How about you?

I'd be a legend in my own mind had I not lost it.

Alison Krause thinks the world of me.
She comes to game and I let her sing.
Emmylou Harris dropped by once, out of kindness, I suppose, but didn't seem interested. She did autograph our club flag.

No. <Sniff!> I tried to tell myself that I am a legend… My Superego just laughed -- along with Freud. <Double-Sniff!> :-(

I'll have my staff confirm it, but right off the bat i'd say,"no."

I'm an icon to everybody.

Yep, that one…

Andrew Walters26 Jan 2019 12:35 p.m. PST

Maybe the few who are both alpha gamers *and* game with a celebrity don't want to out themselves.

I mean, I've gotten bylines in major RPG books from big name publishers. I've run a well read blog that gets reasonably good traffic, and I've been identified as such at conventions by people I didn't know. That's probably as close to close as any of us will get to being an actual celebrity, at least in this hobby.
