I have been adding a few die cast aircraft to my model collection. They are 1/72nd scale metal. They come pre-assembled, painted, and decals already applied.

Being metal they are durable for wargaming, ham fisted gamers don't crush them or break off little parts.

I assume "die cast" means they are metal. I would think 1/72 metal would be awfully heavy and be very unwieldy on top of a flight stand.

Well, you can stick with plastic and papercraft if you want, but they are a bit more hard-wearing. My P-47 is a little over 100g, and my Blackhawk is nowhere near 200g.
Any model aircraft is going to be unwieldy on a flight stand.
