PSR have a review of the MARS German Don Cossacks

And it's pretty good, the only poor rating is for their being only 8 poses in a 40figure set:

Historical Accuracy 10
Pose Quality 8
Pose Number 5
Sculpting 9
Mould 7

we were very pleasantly surprised by the improvement in quality of this set compared to all those that have come before from Mars. Not perfect, but very good, and in some respects up there with the best of them

That does look like a decent set.

I remember when strelets figs got a lot of stick, they have gone up the in thier Levels of sculpting, no reason why mars wonŽt follow. At least they are still around and trying, not like one or other firms who either promise sets which never arrive or who have given up and make nowt but WWII german subjects.
I canŽt sculpt for all the Money in the world so I for one am glad to see anyone try.

Those sure are a shock! Hope it's a trend.

The Scans can appear to look a bit "ugly" like this lot from 5 years back

I guess they thought if Strelets could do it so could they. A great thing for the hobby if this continues. I really dig the kneeling guy in the front row, nice work!

I like the MARS Zombie pirate sets, I think that their historical ranges are ok – if used together – they just don't go well with many (any) other ranges.

See, those to me don't look bad at all. Certainly on par with the likes of metal makes such as Redoubt, Curteys, and 1st Corps.
