Do you use a whiteboard or chalkboard to facilitate gameplay in any way? |

Not at present but have done so in so past. We used to use a white board laid flat on a table with terrain marked on it with whiteboard pens as play area before we got the present set up. x42 |

I bought a small white board at the Dollar Store to facilitate communication with people that have difficulty hearing, especially in loud rooms that have a lot of background noise. Pen and paper, or post-it notes might work for smaller games though. I've seen photos of people using large chalkboards laid flat for their naval games. You can denote vessel wakes, and torpedo launch points, as well as to keep a record of vessel maneuver paths like are seen in battle recreation charts/maps, which are pretty neat. |

Can you still buy chalkboards? |

I actually paint on a old whiteboard that I cut in half and used as a table top. Old paint spills can be razor bladed off. |

When I started playing miniatures D&D with a group in the USAF we played in a rec hall and used the huge blackboard as our game board. The dungeon master drew the map on the blackboard and we moved our figures according. |

I use a whiteboard when we play D&D,we map on it. When it comes to combats I draw the location on a mat and we use that with miniatures. |

In my class I use a white, dry erase board. My new Ged class only has chalk and it is tough. Being able to use the color for notes makes a dry erase board better for gaming as well. |

Only for big multi player games, and even then, only occasionally. Planning, recording statuses and sometimes rules summary. We always use one for out participation games. |
