… Of WW2

"Russia's foreign minister has called on Tokyo to accept the outcome of the war in order to advance discussions on a peace plan. Russia and Japan have yet to sign a peace treaty since the end of World War II.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday questioned whether Japan had fully embraced the results of World War II when it came to resolving a territorial dispute that could pave the way for a peace treaty.

Speaking during an annual press conference, Lavrov said recognizing the outcome of World War II "is neither an ultimatum nor a precondition" for talks…."

"Good"/intersting to see some "disputes" continue to exist for decades long after the shooting was over. And based on recent history, the Russians don't want to give up anymore territory than they already have with the end of the Cold War. Just ask Putin !

Yes, the Japanese and the Russians should accept the outcome of WW2 in the Pacific, meaning that Russia should cede the Kuriles and Sakhalin to the US and the British Commonwealth, who actually won the war.

US and the British Commonwealth, who actually won the war.
The Russians may dispute that. As in the ETO 70+% of Germans killed were on the Eastern Front.

Now in the PTO, the US and UK Commonwealth clearly won on that front. Even if the USSR rolled up the IJF's in a large part of China, etc., in a matter of weeks …
