After eyeing it for a while I finally bought GW's Alchomite Stack scenery kit to use for both 40k and Kill Team.

This turned out to be a really great value in my opinion. The stacks were much bigger than I assumed they would be! I was anticipating them to be the height of only a few 28mm models of human height total.

But these things absolutely tower over Primaris marine infantry, as well as the Repulsor tank and the Primaris Redemptor Dreadnoughts.

Games Workshop is strange sometimes in that kits that should be bigger seem to undersized when they design and produce them. I found their Primaris Repulsor to be smaller than I was anticipating, and the Stormhawk Interceptor was way, way smaller than I thought it would be. Don't me wrong, they're all really nicely detailed kits.

But the Alchomite Stack was a nice surprise in that it feels like true industrial machinery and has a real, factory-size bulk that looks awesome on the tabletop and is even tall enough to be a center piece of a 6 x 4 WH 40k gaming table. The entire kit assembles in a snap and the detail is, like most of GW's terrain and scenery, excellent and crisp in every way.

Here's size comparison pics I did with the Primaris infantry, the Repulsor, Redemptor dreadnoughts, and Stormhawk Interceptor:

Depends on how you build them. They are made to be very modular with the other sets.

Great pieces of terrain but the cost says to me built something like this yourself for far less.

I know I would not be able to reproduce the GW terrain kits detail myself in any reasonable amount of time. Building these and painting them is enough of a time investment for me. The cost doesn't seem that bad to me considering how sturdy they are.
