Dear Forum Members, I promised to follow up my recent entry on 2/1 Chasseurs by placing them on my diorama. They are joined by 1/4 Grenadiers and the Imperial headquarters. More on this on my Blog at link Hope you like them!

Many thanks everyone! The first carriage is an OOP item from Germerhaus – a lovely model that I bought in 2003 in Germany, but sadly unavailable now. The second is a minifies carriage with the wheels changed to something a little less heavy. The horses are from the Imex wild west stagecoach set. The riders have heads attached from two General Picton figures by Strelets. The two figures on the carriage are again conversions, both from Imex. |

The Germerhaus carriage, a Berline, is simply superb and probably worth its weight in gold now. A real rarity. I found many photos of the detailed parts that went into its assembly. Proved invaluable in scratch building, as there are only two photos of the original, of which only one axle now survives. Clever work in creating the postillions and coachmen!
Would be very interested if you can learn anything about Trimotiou, the building across the road from La B All. No one seems to know a thing about it…….

Hi Deadhead, I agree, and I sometimes wonder whether people believed Decoster lived there as his house is too far back to have been of much use as a command post. My understanding is that Wellington and Blucher did not meet at La Belle Alliance but at the Maison Rouge – which I think, but I could be wrong, is another name for Decoster's house. Trimotiou is under construction now, and designed from various remote vantage points in contemporary pictures so there will be some conjecture. |

That casualty looks very much like a figure converted from Airfix German WW I set – picture 4, lying off the side of the road. Bravo! |

I just had to post this picture from ThomasPicton's Blog thingie. That German model of THE coach is a real masterpiece and a distinct rarity these days. I have many pictures of the model and Niels Rullkotter sent me pages and pages of illustrated instructions for assembly (a great help for scratch building in 28mm)

Glad you like it, it was a good buy back in 2003. I got it from Kai Fuhrmann. All that talent and then no more figures, strange! |

I keep coming back to these photos for another look. The sheer number of figures is impressive and I love the Chasseurs a Cheval escort alongside the coaches. |

Thanks! The Chasseurs are Art Miniaturen at the front (with an S Range officer and Lamming trumpeter). At the back, they are Hinton Hunt. |

It's just an incredible amount of work. Almost unbelievable. |
