I have used acrylic craft paints for years without any problems on porous & non-porous surfaces.

A good article. My decision to stay with enamel paints has been vindicated.

When you click on the first instance of the word "miniature" in the article, it takes you to a "basics" page on dollhouse miniatures. There is a lovely article on quarterscale dollhouses and O scale model train interchangeability. Oddly, enough, nothing about using 25mm/28mm/32mm with quarterscale or O scale …

When the cat tells you he can't stand the smell of oils.

This article is on a general crafts site. (It's what I think of as a clickbait site but never mind.)

As far as value to wargaming miniatures painters, or modelers, this article only covers artist paints, student paints, and craft paints. No model paints or miniatures paints. I would think this is a big red flag signifying dubious value for our purposes, or at least myopia.

(Personally I switched years ago from hobby/model/miniatures paints to artist paints, but the choice is worth weighing and certainly not every painter goes that way.)

There is however an example linked by the site of painting wargaming miniatures, or at least RPG miniatures. Under section "Acrylic Paints Have The Advantage of Fast Drying Thin Layers", click the link "highlight miniature details" which goes to a beginner article for painting metal miniatures, and the photos examples are Lord of the Rings metal figures.

My decision to stay with enamel paints has been vindicated.

Lol. And the same article hasn't convinced me to abandon acrylics.

Will the object be handled? If so, it should be painted with enamel/oil paint.

Ah, ……no.
