If you are into the American War between the States, or the War of Northern Aggression, if your down here in the deep south. You really need to get down on the ground at Gettysburg to see what the PBI saw, and then go on one of their horse tours, if they still have them, and see the battlefield from the perspective of the officers. Two different worlds, those couple of extra feet elevation that horseback provides makes all the difference.

Considering the years of Urban Sprawl, and the blatant commercialization of an entire town it seems pretty certain that 42% of the respondents pretty much missed the mark on this poll.

Gettysburg is great but there are too many monuments that spoil the battlefield. Still great to visit. Antietam and Pea Ridge are better preserved. Pea Ridge is like a time capsule.

Gettysburg isn't a preserved battlefield, it is a restored one. Much of the ground was changed when it was an Army base.
