Somewhat amused by the comment in the first review that –

Semi-automatic rifles in full power cartridges like .30-06, 8mm Mauser and 7.62x54R fell out of favor soon after WWII in favor of those favored in smaller cartridges.

Assault rifles – i.e. rifles with full or at least partially full automatic capability – are designed around lower power cartridges, but semi-automatic DMRs and sniper rifles ;are fielded by numerous militaries around the world.

Somewhat damages the author's credibility.

It's not entirely wrong, though.

Semi-auto rifles in full-power cartridges are basically only issued at the one-per-squad or one-per-platoon level.
