Wife gave me one of these a few years back, brought back memories of learning to shave and using one during my service years. Still gives a great shave. These seem to be making a comeback. Anyone else using one? |

Schlick Quatro. I guess I'm not as manly as you. |

Yes, I do. With shaving soap and a brush. There's something about it that I find relaxing. |

I did until I decided to grew a beard, now I just use it to trim around the edges, and avoid having a unibrow. It was loads better in almost every way than the cartridge razors I used before it. It shaved better, cost less, lasted far longer, and was just as safe; I recommend it to anyone. |

No, stopped shaving 4 years or so ago. However, prior to that, I used the double-edged razor I was issued in BT. Gave the best shave ever. |

Nope. I'm a Trac III guy. |

I inherited one of my father's double-edged razors, but I've never used it. It's more of a memento of seeing him shave in the mornings when I was a boy. |

No I don't but I do use the Shick single injector blade Works fine and no nonsense with 3-4-5 etc blades |
Hlaven | 26 Dec 2018 12:17 p.m. PST |
Constantly grow and shave beards. When I am shaving it is various types. Electric shaved, injection blade razor, and double edge razor. To be honest the soap/ cream applied with brush and double edge razor is my favorite. |

I still use one. Tried and electric shaver back in the 1970s, but like the shaving cream and clam-shell style safety razor better.
Did straight-edge for a shor time, but hands are too unsteady now. |

I use one- started about 6 years ago when my wife gave me one for Christmas- I love it! Ditto with the boar Bristle brush and shaving soap! |
Only Warlock | 26 Dec 2018 3:21 p.m. PST |
Been using one for last 2 years, gives remarkably closer shave than my 3-blade shick at about 1/10 the price. |
Bobgnar | 26 Dec 2018 4:40 p.m. PST |
I use one because I shave-trim my neck and cheeks of beard every couple of weeks. Hair Clogs up a disposable razor. Also, used blades are good for craft purposes. |

Learned to use a cut-throat when I worked as a coroners assistant. I have my Great Grandfathers brass double edge safety razor complete with brass case and a pack of 5 un-opened blue blades(20's-30's?). But since I have had a beard since I got out of the service, I haven't had much call to use either. |

Yes. Replacement blades are 7 cents each and last me a week. Dropped the multi blade rip off machine a few years ago. |
JLA105 | 26 Dec 2018 9:45 p.m. PST |
I've been using one fore several years now. Gives just as good, if not a better shave than the multi-blade contraptions, for less money. |
Thresher01 | 26 Dec 2018 10:05 p.m. PST |
Yep, I bought one earlier this year, when my electric trimmer's battery gave up the ghost. Much better than trying to use my underpowered electric shaver on several weeks old beard growth. Reduced the time to shave all that to mere minutes. Works great and inexpensive, especially compared to ALL the new-fangled, 3 – 8(?) blade, disposable razors they sell now, for exorbitant prices. Replacement blades are very cheap too. |

I used to use a straight razor. Got all kinds of grief in the military because it was a "weapon". These days, not so much …

Sometimes, specifically if it's been 2 weeks or so without shaving. |
von Schwartz | 27 Dec 2018 7:12 p.m. PST |
Gawd! is there no one manly enough to use a double blade felling axe? |
Bismarck | 28 Dec 2018 10:50 a.m. PST |
Von Schwartz, nyahhh on the felling axe. Now if you wanna do the manly thing, then you shave with a KABAR! Back in the day, there was a guy in my platoon who actually could do that! |
von Schwartz | 28 Dec 2018 2:46 p.m. PST |
K-bar, yeah, that would be tough, but then how in the hell are you gonna drop that big ole tree afterwards? Ya gotta think ahead, versatility, that's the ticket!!! |
14Bore | 28 Dec 2018 3:49 p.m. PST |
I actually have thought to go to them. These multi bladed shavers I think are not all that great. |
coopman | 28 Dec 2018 4:23 p.m. PST |
I have always favored Gillette razors. I never met a Shick product that I liked. |
Thresher01 | 28 Dec 2018 8:59 p.m. PST |
Every multi-bladed shaver I've ever tried just clogs more horrendously than the single bladed, double-edged ones, and are harder to clean out. The single blade works much more quickly for me, especially if I haven't shaved in more than a week or two. |
von Schwartz | 30 Dec 2018 9:29 a.m. PST |
This multi-bladed thing has gone Waaay too far, I saw one that was SIX blades!!! I always shave in the shower now, yeah, I know the mirrors always fog up. After a while you learn how to shave by touch. I get a better and closer shave than ever, and I never cut myself! I only need to shave every other day, and I use the cheapo Dollar Store, double blade, 3 for a buck shavers! Hell, the Gillette and others want 8-12 bucks for 4 pack of 3-4 blade razors, ridiculous!! |
Old Wolfman | 31 Dec 2018 8:15 a.m. PST |
Reminds me of an old SNL ad spoof for multi-blade razors. |
von Schwartz | 31 Dec 2018 8:13 p.m. PST |
BTW that guy in the photo needs a hedge trimmer, not a razor. |
